Retreat for the Young

Just like home, or better, are the dedicated family and kids’ suites at Holiday Inn Phuket in Patong, Thailand. Adults can enjoy that peaceful rest in the family suite, while the children bunker up in their own fun, pirate-themed room that comes with flashy colors, boat-shaped beds and play stations, TV sets, games and toys.

The Holiday Inn doesn’t charge children under 12, and breakfast is free for kids under six years old. Offering a large variety of scheduled activities, including numerous arts & crafts as well as sports and group games, the free-of-charge Kids Club provide full supervision of your kids, while the parent-free Club 12 Plus offers Internet, Xbox, karaoke and DVD corners for teenagers.

Just outside the clubs are two children’s swimming pools, a toddler pool with waterspouts and kids’ thingamajigs such as water guns, sliders and caves.

Sunset-till-Sunrise  Merriment

Set on Siloso Beach, the 454-room Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort is a very relaxed family choice with an all-around fun and relaxed ambience. Aside from the water slides at the children’s pool, there’s also a poolside ice-cream bar that is irresistably equipped with a popcorn machine and a soda fountain that seemingly popped out of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.

The hotel provides a very child-friendly kids’ club called The Cool Zone, which spreads over two floors and includes a craft zone, games zone a large activity area called the Toots Club. Completely free for young guests aged between 5 to 12 years old, the club includes a delicious kids’ lunch if they stay all day.

As it is strategically adjacent to the beach, Shangri-La placed a flying trapeze on the beach for the more adventurous young guests over four.  If the five-second stroll to the beach is too bothersome for you, simply bask in the atmosphere on one of the sun loungers placed on the sands by the pool.
