Several major designers took a turn to Childhood avenue by integrating playful stars, girly hearts, as well as childhood characters such as Bambi – our personal favorite in this section. The youthful trend was contrasted with transparency and patent leather at Burberry Prorsum, a grunge charm at Saint Laurent and midnight black at Givenchy. Also seen at Hermès, Lanvin, Kenzo, Paul & Joe.
Varsity-style bomber jackets were spotted on almost every catwalk this season, given a distinctly European twist with plush fabrics and a slim cut. We like Oliver Spencer’s grey baseball jacket with splashes of soft blue. Also seen at Givenchy and Roberto Cavalli.

In Fall/Winter 2013 – 2014, multiple designers took grey, one of the safest colors inside any respectable man’s wardrobe, and put it to risk with head-to-toe looks. Charcoal suits were paired with contrasting hues and patterns at Viktor & Rolf and Bottega Veneta, plus YMC’s gunslinger greatcoats thrown over slate sweaters. Also seen at Damir Doma and Wooyoungmi.
Hints of the 1940s were spotted in Milan Fashion Week as several designers and their Fall/Winter 2013 – 2014 collections paid tribute to yesteryear actresses the likes of Ingrid Bergman, Veronica Lake and Katherine Hepburn. The characteristics were very distinct: soft shoulders, nipped waists, rounded hips and lowered necklines. Also seen at Marc by Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Bottega Veneta.
