The Elegance of Warnatasku

Indonesian Fashion Week has always been a special event for new designers to show their best products, as for Warnatasku, a brand of handmade bags created in limited quantities. 

Warnatasku is the idea of ​​two sisters’ love of bags and experience of seeing and buying quality bags. In collaboration with local artisans, Warnatasku offers a variety of beautiful using traditional fabric, pattern, and design.  

In its inaugural show in Indonesian Fashion Week 2016 took place on March 12, 2016, Warnatasku made collaboration with nine designers in terms of categories,and has the idealism to introduce Indonesian culture through Indonesian Wastra (authentic fabric). 

Nine of the designers that Warnatasku collaborated with were Rudi Chandra that displays modernized Jepara weaving, while Nita Seno Aji featured brightly colored weaving, mixing fabrics perfectly of Nusa Tenggara Timur and Manggarai. Defrico Audy also enlivened the show with a collection that he created specially for Warnatasku collection. In the Muslim fashion collection, Jeni Tjahyawati comes with variety of gamis or abaya combined with lengthy robes, blue as the dominant color, complemented with some decorative ornaments. Muslim fashion collection by Ria Baraba, showed colors and glamour detail with gold and silver charm which sit nicely with Warnatasku’s clutch and handbag collection. In his participation this time, Malik Moestaram showed his collections in beautiful ornamental details, with flower and stone decorative pieces. 

The beauty of Indonesia’s kain has always been both alluring and inspiring. In addition to batik, woven fabric such as Ulos was also used in Warnatasku’s collections.
