This Christmas one of Jakarta’s most iconic hotels, Hotel Borobudur, has approached the season with a different color scheme for their festive celebrations. As you walk into the hotel’s lobby, you are met with the sparkles of the turquoise and purple theme for the hotel’s décor, including all over the towering Christmas tree in the hotel’s main lobby.
The unique theme also extends to the hotel’s hamper offers where they teamed up with one of Indonesia’s most renowned radio personalities, Indy Barends, to create a one of a kind Signature Christmas Log in the shape of a vintage radio to reflect Mrs. Barends’ personality. The cake is made of chocolate sponge, chocolate mousse, berry compote and uses sable crackers for the bottom layer and is available to purchase for Rp. IDR. 648.000 nett.
Another unique addition to Hotel Borobudur’s Christmas is a life size windmill-shaped gingerbread house covered with a variety of candies and icing. Inspired by the traditional Dutch windmill, the gingerbread house is made of 640 kg of pastry dough and is filled with baked goods and sweets that can be purchased on site.
