In order to celebrate Christmas, The Alana Hotel & Convention Center in Yogyakarta held a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on 5th December 2016 between 4 and 6 pm in the hotel lobby. The ceremony was led by Pastor Konvirnus accompanied by Mr Saiful Manan, The General Manager of The Alana Hotel & Convention Center Yogyakarta.
The Christmas tree itself, decorated with rustic ornaments made from wood and adorned with Christmas lights stands beside the Joglo Ginger House. Candles were lit manually by rubbing dry wood together, causing fire. This was used to light the first candle on the Christmas tree, followed by the rest of the hotel lobby’s decorations creating a wonderfully seasonal glow.
