The Spirit of Autumn in Japan

People say that cherry blossom is the most anticipated moment in Japan, but I love Japan more in autumn. Visiting some sacred places during the Autumn season is a truly valuable experience.

Fushimi Inari Shrine, one of the Shinto temples in Kyoto, is well known with its thousand torii gates that mark the transition from the mundane to the sacred with fox statues which represent communication between God and humans. The torii gates along the trail were donated by individuals, families and Japanese companies, and are valued between 400,000 to one million yen!

Sensoji Temple is the most ancient Budhist temple in Tokyo and the greatest in Asakusa district. When we visited the Sensoji Temple, we witnessed the harmony of ancient and modern cultures, ancient buildings surrounded by Tokyo skyscrapers. At night, Sensoji temple offers splendid views with its great lanterns.
