Plataran Menjangan Hosts ‘Towards Net Zero’ Declaration at Plataran L’Harmonie, West Bali National Park

 

On 6-7 July 2022, Plataran Menjangan, Bali hosted ‘Towards Net Zero’ declaration event in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs of Indonesia, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Bali Regional Government.

‘Towards Net Zero’ is an effort to achieve net zero emissions that is part of the Glasgow Declaration as a catalyst to accelerate climate action in tourism and to secure strong actions and commitments to support the global goal of halving emissions over the next decade before 2050. With the launch of this plan, Indonesia will be the first country in ASEAN to implement the Glasgow Declaration together in the tourism sector. And Plataran L’Harmonie is the only privately managed destination of the 5 designated pilot program destinations.

This prestigious event was attended by Sandiaga Uno – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo – Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Rizky Handayani – Deputy for Tourism Products and Events, Odo Manuhutu; on behalf of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Nandang Prihadi; on behalf of Minister of Environment and Forestry, Estty Purwadiani; on behalf of Minister of Finance, Nur Satyo Kurniawan; on behalf of Chief Commissioner of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority, Ary Suhandi – Indonesia Ecotourism Network (INDECON), Jejak.in, Wise Steps Consulting and representatives of 4 other destinations.
