Mixed Feelings is an incubation program led by Atreyu Moniaga specifically for illustrators, painters, and mixed media artists. Since 2014 Mixed Feelings have introduced to the public young artists who nowadays have made their names known.
This year’s Mixed Feeling rangers came from all different backgrounds; Juju who sacrifices so much of his convenience for his art, Adriel who rebels against his own education, Yen who portrays her strength through beauty and graciousness, and Karin who victoriously battles her medium loss of hearing and tinnitus by doing the only thing that she loves to do: collage art. This is a bunch of rangers that Atreyu doesn’t need to push for his own sake; they are already pushing themselves, and all he does in Mixed Feelings is doing what the universe is calling him to do: sharing. Mixed Feelings: Of All the Odds is a documentation of Juju, Adriel, Yen and Karin who represent fellow young artists who fight against all odds in their creative and artistic endeavors.
The group exhibition is still running from 22 October until 11 December 2022 at Srirasanti Gallery, Yogyakarta.
