Museum MACAN proudly unveils Ruang Gagasan Museum MACAN-ERHA is a hub in the museum where the public and communities can gather to discuss and exchange ideas, learn and create things, and collaborate. Ruang Gagasan, created by Museum MACAN with the full support of ERHA. Located in the Public Area of the museum, Ruang Gagasan is accessible to museum visitors from different ages and backgrounds.
More than just a space, Ruang Gagasan is designed as a platform to host various programs which will bring people together and support communities. Together with ERHA, the programs will highlight innovation, technology, sustainability, art, and beauty. Not only inviting art experts, but Ruang Gagasan will also bring together speakers from the cultural, environmental, and sustainability fields. The programs will include panel discussions, workshops, storytelling sessions for children and families, public talks, and performance art, among many other things.
The Ruang Gagasan Museum MACAN-ERHA is designed by the architect AT-LARS, who took inspiration from the Indonesian Archipelago. The tiered bench shape represents the rice fields landscape, while the color combination chosen represents the ocean, islands, and abundant sunshine of the tropical country. The hub also represents Museum MACAN and ERHA’s values in embracing diversity and bringing them together to connect and unite people, encourage discussion and conversation, sparking creativity and innovation in the process.
