UNITED TRACTORS HOLDS MEDIA WORKSHOP & GATHERING 2023

United Tractors (UT) member of ASTRA recently held a Media Workshop 2023 attended by media guests and UT subsidiaries representatives at the UT grand ballroom. Taking the theme “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Newsrooms: Fostering Representation and Fair Reporting”, which was opened with an opening speech by Edhie Sarwono as Director of United Tractors, the workshop session also invited guest speaker Dr. Usman Kansong S.Sos., M. Si., as Directorate General of Public Information and Ministry of Communication and Information and panelist Sara K. Loebis as Corporate Secretary of United Tractors which then followed with a question and answer session, and lunch.

UT was established in 1972 and is currently spread across the Indonesian archipelago, with robust experience in serving various industries and sectors with six business pillars. The first pillar is Construction Machinery, UT is the largest distributor of heavy equipment in Indonesia. As the sole distributor of Komatsu, UD Trucks, Scania, Bomag, and Tadano, United Tractors provides heavy equipment, trucks, cranes, and buses used in mining, agriculture, construction, forestry, as well as material handling and transportation. On the occasion, UT presented the implementation and strategies related to DEI including Empowering Women Leaders & Local People, Quality Empowerment for Youth, and many other areas of opportunities. UT also presented the Performance Result and Company Outlook 2023, which in most areas are showing good performance in production and financially. Although UT’s main activities are in construction machinery, mining contracting, mining, and energy, UT also makes a great effort and support on Environmental Social, and Governance (ESG) practices for a better and healthier earth. Sustainability aspirations targeted in 2030 in the areas: 30% reduction in GHG emission, 22% renewable energy mix, 62% solid waste management diverted, improving DEI in employees, zero fatality and LTI rate for employee health and safety, increasing beneficiaries in community development, and many others.
