A TOTAL OF 13,600 RUNNERS PARTICIPATED IN ‘ELITE’ LABEL ROAD RACE MAYBANK MARATHON 2023

 

The annual Maybank Marathon has been held since 2012, and in 2020 the Maybank Marathon won the ‘Elite’ label road race certification from the athletics body that regulates, supervises, and certifies the World Athletics.

This year, on 27 August 2023, the first and only ‘Elite’ Label Road Race in Indonesia, the Maybank Marathon was held with the start and finish location at Bali Safari & Marine Park, Gianyar. A total of 13,600 runners from 50 countries have entered the 2023 Maybank Marathon.

The runners’ enthusiasm in the three categories was very lively, especially during flag-off at 04.30 WITA for the Marathon category, followed by the Half Marathon category at 05.30 WITA and the 10K category at 06.00 WITA. A flag-off for the wheelchair category was also carried out at 06.15 WITA with 50 participants.

The big gathering event for runners, this year Maybank Marathon provides a total prize of IDR 2.7 billion for 86 winners including two record-breakers. President Director of Maybank Indonesia Taswin Zakaria symbolically handed over the prizes to all winners.

On the occasion, Taswin also expressed his gratitude for the success of the Maybank Marathon 2023 and appreciation to all parties who have supported the event.

The Maybank Marathon 2023 was a collaboration and support from various elements such as the Bali Provincial Government, the Bali Provincial Police, the Bali Province Indonesian Red Cross, the Gianyar Regency Government, Gianyar District Military Command 1616, the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI), sponsors and media partners.
