The Kompas Travel Fair (KTF) was officially opened on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Hall 5 and Hall 6 of the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD Tangerang. The opening of KTF 2023 was attended by representatives from Kompas Daily, partner banks; Bank Mandiri and Bank OCBC NISP, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. The exhibition will last for 3 days, until Sunday, September 3. 

KTF 2023 is organized by Kompas Daily in collaboration with Bank Mandiri and Bank OCBC NISP, along with various service providers and travel industry players. Carrying the tagline “Yuk Berangkat (Let’s Go),” which conveys the community’s desire to travel, the exhibition provides various travel needs for travelers, including travel packages, flight tickets, attraction tickets, and travel accessories. Optimism

KTF 2023 demonstrates optimism for the recovery of the tourism industry. After a period of dormancy during the pandemic, the tourism industry began to regain momentum in 2022. Data from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for 2022 recorded that the number of foreign tourists (foreign visitors) and domestic tourists (local visitors) exceeded targets. In 2022, there were 5.5 million foreign tourist arrivals, surpassing the target of 1.8 million to 3.6 million arrivals. Meanwhile, domestic travel reached 800 million journeys, exceeding the target of 550 million journeys.

With the enthusiasm in the tourism sector in the first quarter of 2023, the government decided to raise the target for foreign tourist visits to 8.5 million visits, up from the initial target of 3.5 million to 7.4 million visits. The projected foreign exchange earnings are expected to rise to 6 billion US dollars, up from the previous target range of 2.07 billion to 5.95 billion US dollars. The target for domestic tourist mobility is set at 1.2 billion to 1.4 billion journeys.

“The number of tourists in 2022 surpassing the Kemenparekraf target shows that the passion for travel among the community has rekindled, and we hope this trend continues in the future. Through KTF 2023, we are making efforts to sustain this positive trend.
