MENARA BHAKTI FOUNDATION HELD A GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR THE TEDJA INDONESIA TOURISM INSTITUTE

Tourism is a prospective sector that drives Indonesia’s economic growth, especially with the archipelago’s rich heritage culture, beautiful destinations, and resources. Although the need and demand for professionals in this field are high, the supply of qualified professionals with international knowledge still needs to be developed further.

In the spirit of taking part in the future of the industry, Menara Bhakti Foundation, as the founder of Mercu Buana University, a private university with over 40 years of experience and competencies in producing graduates, will establish Tedja Indonesia Tourism Institute, a tourism and hospitality institute in response to the high demand of hotel and tourism professionals.

The Tedja Indonesia Tourism Institute is committed to educating and producing a workforce in the tourism and hospitality sector with international standards. The institute will collaborate with Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), a well-known hospitality school in Switzerland, in curriculum development and also establish a partnership with Marriott International Indonesia.

The groundbreaking event for the initial building construction of the campus in Cipayung, East Jakarta, was attended by various parties, including Government officials from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, stakeholders, and other distinguished guests. This was marked by pressing the siren by the Chairman of Menara Bhakti Foundation, representatives of the foundation, and accompanied by the Rector of Mercu Buana University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Andi Adriansyah, M.Eng., continued with the bore pile and tumpeng cutting ceremony. This strategic business development is expected to be a catalyst in the transformation of tourism and hospitality education in Indonesia.
