United Tractors Tbk (UT) introduces the new 20 Tonne Class Electric Excavator, answering the global call for a greener future.
Publicly released on the first day of Mining Indonesia 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran, the Komatsu PC200 is the youngest sibling of Komatsu’s lineup of eco-friendly and sustainability based heavy machineries. UT, as the sole distributor of Komatsu brand in Indonesia dedicates the PC200 also as a real effort to support the Indonesian government to realize 2060 Net Zero Emission. The PC200 ifself is not the first green excavator by Komatsu. In 2005, Komatsu released the first 13-20 Tonne Class Wired Electric Excavator, followed by Mini Excavator Battery Electric in 2020, and 2022’s hybrid 30 Tonne Class HB365-1.
The New 20 Tonne Class Electric Excavator fully uses electric battery and is supported by wireless based Komtrax Telematics technology which is also accessible via smartphone app. The absence of an internal combustion engine means the PC200 runs entirely on external power sources such as electricity from the State Power Company (PLN) or through portable charging tools and charging stationary. The PC200 operates its Hydraulic Main Pump from its electric motor which also powers the other vital components such as boom, arm, bucket, the caterpillars and swinging. One major advantage from the conventional heavies is the easy maintenance due to fewer moving parts, annihilating the need for regular filter replacement, oil change or injector cleaning.
With the New 20 Tonne Class Electric Excavator, UT will direct its attention towards mineral mining in Indonesia such as nickel, tin, bauxite, coal as well as construction sites. Currently the new PC200 is undergoing market sounding and one of the major campaigns is the reduction of carbon trace and positive environmental impact. At Mining Indonesia 2023, UT brought its flagship products from Komatsu, UD Trucks, Scania, Bomag and Tadano, as well as introduced UT’s digital and integrated training technology, company’s history, profile, and vision.
