“Seanergy” is a collaborative fashion and art exhibition of two Indonesian talented fashion designers and artists, Ria Miranda and Mulyana. Each is globally renowned for their creative designs, which exhibition still can be viewed by the public until 27 October 2023 at D Gallerie Jakarta.
“Seanergy” comes from the Mulyana’s visual forms of marine life as an ecosystem of giant octopus which responded to the positive energy that emerged from Ria Miranda’s design. It took one year of process to plan and execute this exhibition, finally, Ria Miranda and Mang Moel succeeded in showcasing their creative works into the concept of an underwater ecosystem installation to the fashion and art lovers.
Mang Moel is always fond of the yellow color for the reason that yellow sparks our life brighter. He is globally renowned for his crochet knitting art in various international art exhibitions and biennales. He used leftover yarn from a clothing factory in Bandung. Around 80 percent of the materials and threads used to make the artwork came from unused leftover materials. In this exhibition, Mang Moel again presents a custom-made installation which is a metamorphosis of Mogus, a giant octopus monster, but in this exhibition, he gives the element of surprise with a pink color tone concept which represents Ria Miranda’s DNA color.
While Ria Miranda presents the ready-to-wear and accessories “Seanergy” series which varies to 15 articles specially designed with a touch of embroidered tile material, and designs and color combinations that are adapted to the concept of marine life. Specifically for this collaboration, Ria Miranda also presents a men’s collection including the iconic “Iwak”, the yellow fish brooch, which resembles Mang Moel’s signature installation that hangs beautifully on the ceiling.
