Encouraging creative movements of local Bandung artists, de Braga by ARTOTEL again presents a solo exhibition by Eddy Harmanto, entitled, “Absolute State of Soul“, which is currently taking place at de Braga by ARTOTEL from 24 October 2023 to 30 November 2023.
Curated by Anton Susanto, the “Absolute State of Soul” showcases works with non-representational nuances. Through an abstract approach, this exhibition invites visitors to immerse in each painting, forgetting the hustle and bustle of everyday life, complex meta-narratives, global conspiracies, and trivial gossip that often fills social media. This exhibition is the perfect space to let go of all that and have a dialogue with one’s soul through reflection on works created with full expression of the soul as a guide.
Eddy Hermanto himself is a versatile artist who has long been involved in the world of Indonesian fine arts since the 80s, especially in Bandung. In his artistic journey which has spanned several decades, Eddy Hermanto is seen as a true learner. He never sticks to one theme or technique in his creative process, always eager to try new things, resulting a very diverse creative expression.
