As the pioneer and flagship of Parador Hotels & Resorts, part of the Paramount Land group, Atria Hotels and Residences Gading Serpong in Tangerang has been the leading hotel in the region over the years. Especially, with the newly revamped project that has been completed in all its facilities and services, to better serve the guests and cater to the needs for any occasion.

Leading the hotel is Wahyono or Yoyon, General Manager with a cluster role for the hotel and residence. Yoyon joined the Parador Hotels & Resorts group in 2013. At that time, he was assigned as General Manager for the Atria Hotel and Conference Malang pre-opening team with 175 rooms and 8 meeting rooms, along with F&B outlets. The hotel became the market leader in the four-star-rated hotel for years, and the reward for his fast-growing hotel management skills was achieving Best Hotel GOP and Revenue among the group. Following his success, in 2018 he was promoted to the Corporate Office with an executive position in Parador Hotels and Resorts, appointed to the role of Operations Director of the group. He was in charge of, and responsible for, the operation of 12 hotels across Indonesia, including 4 Atria Hotels with a four-star rating, 1 Ara Hotel with a three-star rating, 2 Fame Hotels with a two-star rating, 3 Starlet Hotels with budget hotel rating, 1 Haka Hotel with a two-star rating, and 1 Paramount Villa Manado. Yoyon, as a leader with a great vision for the future, accomplished achievements, such as the fast-growing local Hotel Management Company, the net score of a hotel operation including Health and Safety through operation audit, quality improvement of audit building defects, the performance of financial results in all hotel units, and compliance in rebranding hotel audits.

In April 2021, Yoyon was promoted to Cluster General Manager of Atria Hotels and Residences Gading Serpong. “Looking back, from 2010 until today, I’m very excited and optimistic by the rapid growth happening in the Gading Serpong area. Especially with massive openings of new corporate offices, health providers, schools, and universities, and additionally, the growing culinary scene, making Gading Serpong a new destination”, says Yoyon.

He adds, “Even when the tremendous impact of COVID-19 hit tourism, we always encouraged the team to create innovative ideas to boost room operations and F&B outlet revenues. Intensive staff training not only improved the quality of service but also built the level of employee confidence in serving guests. This resulted in low levels of employee turnover. We have renovated all of our facilities, including rooms with additional Suite units and a Royal Suite with butler service, built a façade and swimming pool, and all completed by the end of the pandemic period. This prepared us to welcome guests with a new look, to cater to guests’ needs, deliver a customer experience, and exceed guests’ expectations. With over 40% of our guests being repeater guests, we are committed to improving and delivering optimum facilities and services. Another aspect has been to upgrade MICE facilities with a ballroom capacity of up to 1000 standing guests. Revenues have shown increasing numbers. Following the success of hotel renovations, soon we will renovate the residences, to improve our services to our tenants.”

Furthermore, he adds, “In order to deliver customer experience, we consistently explore local cuisine, heritage, tourist attractions and are in partnership with the local tourism authority and partners to highlight Gading Serpong as a new destination.”

With his extensive experience of over 30 years in the hospitality industry, Yoyon is a mentor and a leader, gained from hotel management chain experience in Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, Malang, and Jakarta, from Front Desk positions to Hotel Manager to General Manager, to overseeing cluster properties that combine hotel and residence. A passionate hotelier who loves to travel by bicycle or even motorbike to unwind from his busy schedule, he also loves to explore local cuisine and tradition. Yoyon always tries to engage with the guests, ensuring they have the best experience they can get.
