Carrying the theme “Automotive X Lifestyle” at GJAW 2023, Mazda Indonesia presented an automotive and fashion collaboration event with well-known Indonesian fashion designer, Jeffry Tan. The fashion show, titled “Celebrating Mazda’s Jinba-Ittai by Jeffry Tan”, presented two outfits wrapped in the Mazda Takumi Jacket, and four other different outfits, namely the Jinba-Ittai collection to present synergy between the automotive and fashion industries.
With this automotive and fashion collaboration, Jeffry emphasized that the clothing designs he created is reflected in Mazda’s Kodo concept, the artisan Mazda Takumi jacket. Mazda wants to have merchandise products that reflect the Kodo philosophy, which features not only slick movement and flow but also a graceful and flowing silhouette, highlighting its signature platinum white accents, which gives the impression of illumination to the clothing when viewed from different angles. This fits Mazda’s focus on the exploration of light. “Platinum white, when moving, looks shiny, depending on different viewing angles”. Jeffry Tan revealed that the design and cut of the Takumi jacket are both suitable for men and women of various body sizes.
Through this synergy of creativity, Mazda cars are not presented as vehicles, but also as moving works of art that combine philosophy and aesthetics. In his fashion design, Jeffrey revealed that he intends to show works with a premium and elegant impression. This is reflected in the selection of pieces of clothing that adopt the draftery cutting. Although this looks simple and practical, the actual value appears when moving, resulting in an amazing effect. Jeffrey added that the results of his collaboration with Mazda Indonesia allowed him to create elegant, luxurious, and perfect clothing.
