
In conjunction with the Annual Indonesian Contemporary Art & Design (ICAD) which this year celebrates its 13th year and still running at grandkemang Jakarta, ICAD had the honor to host a Special Gathering with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ambassadors, artists, and communities as part of the ICAD programs. On the occasion, ICAD invited Sandiaga Uno – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, H.E. Jaroslav Doleček – Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Indonesia, Charlotte Esnou – Cultural Attache at the French Embassy in Indonesia, Summer Xia – Country Director & Regional Director of Higher Education Programms, British Council, Andhika Permata – Head of Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy. They were welcomed by the ICAD team and escorted to see around the exhibition and had the opportunity to meet some of the participating artists. On the occasion, all esteemed guests expressed their sincere appreciation to participate and support ICAD, which in many years always committed to encouraging the creativity in art and design of Indonesian culture, be it domestic or international. The event was then followed by a group photo with Diana Nazir – Steering Committee ICAD 13, Edwin Nazir – Festival Director ICAD 13, and Amanda Ariawan – Lead Curator ICAD 13, and later followed by gathering with the artists.
ICAD 13 runs from 13 October to 26 November 2023, taking the theme “FGL” or Feel-Good Lab has become the curatorial manifesto for Indonesian Contemporary Art & Design in its thirteenth year of journey. The exhibition takes place at grandkemang Jakarta as the venue of experimental creativity by artists and designers responding to its space. The artworks and installations displayed by artists and designers offer a more detailed look at the ideas of care, humor, feel-good, and contrasting emotions that inspire and surround them.
