
The ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO) successfully hosted the ASEAN Youth Conference 2023 held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 3-5 November 2023. This conference is a platform for young people to come together and share their ideas and solutions for a better future for the region. The conference drew around 250 ASEAN and international youth leaders and change-makers from 15 countries. Organized by AYO and in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat, Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Cultural Affairs, AYO Kreasi Internasional, Selangor Youth Community, and Museum Bank Indonesia, with highlight theme “#ASEANYouth: Guardians of the Sustainable Future for a Resilient ASEAN”. The theme focuses on the role of youth in Southeast Asia in supporting ASEAN’s long-term vision post-2025, or the ASEAN Vision 2045.
The conference featured three-panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions on a range of topics, including economic development, political security, and socio-
cultural development. The delegates developed international project plans and initiatives addressing the challenges and opportunities identified in the Youth Declaration. The event concluded with a festive atmosphere, followed by a dinner and celebration.
Since 2018, AYO has successfully conducted six ASEAN Youth Conferences and many other forums and activities that provide a platform for youth to explore their capacity through initiatives that in years to come can accelerate empowering youth-driven policies and young leaders from ASEAN and its partnering countries.
