TACO X PARK JIHYUN COLLABORATION AT ART JAKARTA 2023

A creativity that delivers a narrative of upcycling as well as a message to encourage public awareness of the importance of caring for our environment, was exhibited by TACO in collaboration with Park Jihyun, a contemporary Korean artist during the previous Art Jakarta 2023. The installation is titled Thomson 6.1944 S 106.8229 E, Special Edition of Thomson Series, using TACO product materials.

Park systematically disassembles and reassembles the used items and TACO products to give a new meaning. This technique is in line with TACO’s tagline, Limitless Creativity. Park, an artist and owner of Euljiro Printing Alley studio in South Korea, was aspired to unite between Jakarta – Seoul through TACO products and his artwork. This also encourages an environmentally friendly initiative in the urban landscape. “When I first got to know TACO products, I was inspired by the wide range of colors, motifs, and textures they have. The combining objects and products process has brought a new vibe as if opening a new genre of art,” said Park Jihyun.

TACO HPL products, TACO Edging, TACO PVC Board, and TACO’s newest products such as the TACO Sheet Mirror Series, are the main components applied and highlight the signature of Park’s artwork. He also combines material scraps from local workshops through TACO products, including reusing waste materials. Apart from Park’s artwork, TACO Luxury Vinyl Perform 300 was also applied to decorate the VIP Lounge area throughout Art Jakarta.
