A STRATEGIC TRANSFORMATION OF HAM (HIMPUNAN ANAK MEDIA) TO GROW AS A FOUNDATION FOR INDONESIA’S DOMESTIC AND HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY

HAM (Himpunan Anak Media or National Media Community) recently celebrated its 16th anniversary, this time collaborating with the spa and wellness industry, named Alaya Spa. Each party with a reputable portfolio, through this collaboration, aims to strengthen the growth of Indonesia’s domestic tourism and hospitality industry at large.

Taking the theme ‘Konco Lawas’ (Old Friends) on this 16th-anniversary celebration, HAM invited its members since its first founded to join the journey celebration. On this occasion, HAM also announced its strategic transformation from being a national media community that grows to another level from community further into a foundation.

Wahyu Indrasto, Advisor of HAM announced this exciting news of HAM’s transformation at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, as the venue partner of the anniversary party. This means HAM now has a legal entity as a Foundation, which gives members and partners stronger legal status and clearer directions on structures and future work programs.

“Currently this foundation is in the finalization process, which shortly will be very useful in business trips, programs, and events arrangements with other parties who will form partnership and collaboration opportunities soon it’s ready with firmed legal status,” he said.

Arief Suharto, Chairman of HAM said, “This strategic step has been positively welcomed and responded to, considering that HAM is a national media community base whose existence relies on the solid commitments of all stakeholders and across broader corporations or associations. Now it’s even more strengthened with a stronger legal status.”

Shalfi Andri, Head Advisor of HAM, added that there were many requests from HAM members, stakeholders, and former media friends for this year’s HAM anniversary celebration to be held in Jakarta to get together after the long overdue.

In the last three years, or to be precise, during the pandemic, HAM has always held its anniversaries outside the Jakarta region because it carries a mission to recover the domestic tourism sector. “So, this year is the time to reconsolidate and reunite with stakeholders in Jakarta,” he continued.

Andhy Irawan, Founder of HAM, explained that the roles of media and HAM with its members, in particular, are very impactful as acknowledged by stakeholders, especially those from the tourism and hospitality industry.

In this 16th anniversary of HAM, members also received other information and updates, including the rebranding of Alaya Spa into Annathaya Spa & Wellness, as well as the rebranding of The Red Planet Hotel to the Monoloog Hotel.
