Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) is honored and invited by the Russian Fashion Council to take part in the BRICS+ FASHION SUMMIT, which was held from 28 November to 2 December 2023 in Moscow, Russia.
Ali Charisma, National Chairman of IFC was one of the honorable keynote speakers on the global sustainable fashion industry in general and the power of the Indonesian textile industry in particular. Ali explained the greenwashing topic in the sustainable fashion marketing context. He also shared the Indonesian wastra stories and the significant support from Indonesian SMEs in the traditional textile and wastra industry.
BRICS+ FASHION SUMMIT 2023 also invited the brand “aldrie by L“, one of the members of the IFC Surabaya Chapter, and showcased the collection at the fashion show. This aim through prestigious event involvement with Indonesian fashion designers could strengthen the potential of Indonesian fashion products to enter the Moscow market, as well as pave the way for Indonesian designers to market their collections on a global scale and open up opportunities for sustainable business collaboration between Indonesian designers and buyers from Moscow.
Taking a theme, “An introduction to the world of aldrie”, successfully showcased 30 different looks, divided into women’s and men’s collections, which are an elevated and improved version of aldrie’s 30 best-selling looks from its inception until today.
In this collection, L who has always been fond of flora and fauna symbols as he has drawn since childhood, highlights fauna such as dragons, flying koi, giant ants, and many others. L also combines fabric manipulation techniques such as slashing and sequin techniques.
Still in this collection, aldrie collaborates with Ilham Bahari songket cloth to present an identity of a proud Indonesian. Aldrie also collaborates with IDIG ITS to create unique and stunning 3D-printed accessories, which turned out admired by buyers in Russia. Apart from that, aldrie synergizes with The Theme for accessories, which gives a more dramatic look to the collection.
This clothing design collection contains a dark minimalist impression, avant-garde yet wearable. Apart from the songket cloth, aldrie also uses cotton, wool, and linen as the main materials. From the silhouette, the designs showcased a relaxed and oversized look with accentuation on several parts. The color tone tends to be darker to give a mysterious and elegant look.
