The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) signed a memorandum of co-operation with leading Southeast Asian travel agency Traveloka on February 17th, highlighting a shared pledge to strengthen Southeast Asian travel to Singapore.
The agreement signifies the parties’ commitment to enhance “innovation” and “visitor experiences” within Southeast Asia.
Speaking at the signing yesterday, STB’s Chef Executive Melissa Ow said the partnership between STB and Traveloka had grown in “strength and depth”, since its original signing in 2019. She added that the partnership would allow Singapore to showcase “extraordinary experiences”, as part of STB’s ‘Made in Singapore’ campaign, to a wider audience.
Both STB and Traveloka will co-invest in marketing campaigns both in Indonesia and other southeast Asian countries including Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
STB Executive of Southeast Asia Mr Terrence Voon said the partnership will help “unlock the rich tourism potential of Southeast Asia and Indonesia”.

“[The partnership] will help us understand our customers better and strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading destination for regional travellers,” he continued.
Traveloka President Mr Caesar Indra described Singapore as a “prominent” destination for south-east Asian travellers and said that there were almost three times the number of searches of flights to Singapore in 2023 than in 2022.
From January to November 2023, Indonesians (2.06 million) made up almost half of Singapore’s visitor arrivals from Southeast Asia (4.78 million).
“We are committed to provide more benefits and fulfil consumers’ holiday aspirations, including their Singapore vacation plans, and this collaboration marks an exciting chapter in enriching experiences for our customers,” he said.
STB also highlighted what travellers can look forward to in 2024, including: a lineup of artistic showcases such as Light to Night Singapore (January 19-February 8) and ARTWALK 2024 (January 19-28), the opening of Raffles Hotel in Sentosa Island in April, and ‘Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest experience’.
