SARIRASA GROUP CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Commemorating its 50th anniversary, the Sarirasa Group has reflected on its deep journey to celebrate Indonesia’s diverse culinary traditions. Since inception, the Sarirasa Group has been committed to introducing, respecting, preserving and promoting Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage. Today, the Group has become a symbol of authenticity, innovation and cultural celebration, reflecting the essence of Indonesia’s colorful culinary landscape.

“With a strong history of showcasing various culinary traditions, the Sarirasa Group has long been recognized for its commitment to representing various religious celebrations such as Chinese New Year, Ramadan and Christmas through a variety of unique menus,” said Lavinia Siswadi, Head of Marketing. “Our commitment to celebrating diversity and promoting cultural exchange through food has been at the heart of everything we do.”

In 2017, the Sarirasa Group expanded its culinary options by presenting GOPEK, a concept dedicated to celebrating the diversity of typical Peranakan dishes. This was an important moment as the Group had previously focused on introducing Indonesian cuisine from regions such as Java and Bali. GOPEK was born to promote authentic Chinese-Indonesian Peranakan dishes that have become part of our everyday lives but are often forgotten. The Peranakan dishes include Noodles, Fried Rice, Siomay, and others.

In 2019, the Sarirasa Group expanded its Peranakan concept by opening Gopek House, which features authentic Indonesian Peranakan dishes commonly found in homes. From Beef Steak to Butter Fried Chicken, Gopek House serves classic dishes that bring out the flavors of traditional Peranakan cuisine. Through GOPEK, the Sarirasa Group aims to enrich its culinary diversity by not only introducing new flavors but also sharing the stories and history behind each dish.

With its 50th anniversary celebration, the Sarirasa Group hopes to continue its mission of celebrating culinary diversity and promoting cultural exchange through food, along with a spirit of culinary innovation and dedication to cultural preservation that remains committed to sharing Indonesian flavors and stories with the world.
