JAKARTA MUSLIM FASHION WEEK (JMFW) 2024: THE WORLD’S MODEST FASHION HUB

“Discover Indonesian Modest Fashion Excellence” was the highlighted theme as the JMFW aimed to accelerate Indonesia’s modest fashion industry and ecosystem into becoming the center of global modest fashion.

In this 3rd year, the JMFW has shown increased its achievements, not only through its fashion shows but also through stimulating economic growth in the modest fashion ecosystem, involving many stakeholders in promoting Indonesia’s fashion and creative industry to the global market.

The growing trend for wearing modest fashion has become part of a lifestyle, not only in Muslim-majority countries, but even more broadly, including renowned brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, DIOR, and Uniqlo x Hana Tajima who have taken the opportunity to market modest fashion collections. The fashion industry is also embracing more modest fashion designers as International fashion stages such as New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week have also featured modest fashion collections.

This year’s JMFW was successfully held from 19-21 October 2023 at ICE BSD and featured the designs of 214 designers/brands with around 1,000 collections, as well as brands from supporting sectors, such as beauty and cosmetics, textiles and garments, footwear, bags, accessories, and jewellery, as well as other lifestyle brands.

During the 3-day exhibition, the JMFW presented numerous fashion shows, trade exhibitions, and business matching sessions, supported by various ministries and institutions, such as the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Bank Indonesia, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) along with other sponsors, namely Wardah, Mustika Ratu, APR, UBS, Bank Syariah Indonesia, Toyota, Tokopedia, Vivere, and You-C1000.
