Coach is thrilled to announce the opening of the first-ever Coach Restaurant and Coach Coffee Shop at the Grand Indonesia Mall in Jakarta, marking its debut entry into the hospitality industry.
Since the introduction of its Expressive Luxury vision in 2022, Coach has embarked on a mission to enable customers to express themselves authentically through its brand ethos, “The Courage to Be Real,” by providing immersive experiences. Drawing inspiration from the iconic visual style of New York, the birthplace of the Coach brand since 1941, The Coach Restaurant puts a modern twist on the traditional New York steakhouse. The restaurant pays homage to Coach’s history by incorporating elements of the brand into its décor, adorned with floral details inspired by the Coach collection, including menu covers, napkin cuffs, placemats, and waiter aprons made from glovetanned leather – all designed to capture the essence of New York City for Coach enthusiasts worldwide. The menu showcases classic New York steakhouse fare such as strip steak, lamb chops, shrimp cocktails, wedge salads, and martinis.
Collaboratively designed by Creative Director of Coach – Stuart Vevers and President of Studio Sofield – William Sofield, The Coach Restaurant boasts the brand’s iconic leather codes and colors. Inspired by Coach’s craftsmanship and the vibrant energy of New York City, this exceptional dining venue seamlessly blends natural and industrial materials to create stunning architectural elements. Bronze mirrors, sleek black steel stairs, elegant white and gray terrazzo floors, and grid panels embellished the walls complemented with tropical wood as a subtle hint to mark the restaurant’s location in Southeast Asia. Taking cues from New York City’s famous yellow taxis, The Coach Restaurant also features bistro-style leather booths and an eye-catching NYC taxi-cab installation hanging from the ceiling. The soft, natural lighting creates an ambiance that promises an intimate and memorable dining experience.
Situated adjacent to The Coach Restaurant, the Coach Coffee Shop enhances the dining experience with its charming and nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of a New York corner shop. Infused with a contemporary flair, the coffee shop honors the legacy of Coach, showcasing walls decorated with captivating views of New York City. The menu highlights signature dishes from iconic New York restaurants, including delectable pizzas and delightful soft-serve ice cream. The coffee shop amalgamates industrial design elements that exude an urban style, while also introducing Coach’s coffee shop mascot, Lil Miss Jo, that embodies the vintage New York diner and the dynamic spirit of a city that never sleeps.
Furthermore, the Coach Tabby Shop is set to make its global debut in Australia and Asia this spring, staying true to the brand’s vision of Expressive Luxury and genuine self-expression, while providing innovative experiences for our community.
