ALILA SCBD JAKARTA ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH GIVING BAG

Alila SCBD Jakarta, known for its commitment to luxury hospitality and sustainable tourism in the heart of Jakarta’s prestigious SCBD precinct, is proud to announce a partnership with Giving Bag, an innovative charitable amenity company founded by Quinn Cox & Lilia Karimi. This collaboration aims to support local communities by promoting  sustainable practices and providing essential resources to those in need.

As the Cofounder and CEO of Giving Bag, Quinn expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are proud to deepen our relationship with Hyatt in expanding the adoption of Giving Bag to Alila brand hotels across the world. The passion and creativity our partners bring to this initiative help to further reinforce the meaningful positive impact it can have on local communities as well as our environment by helping connect gently used items with those in need rather than unnecessarily going to landfill.”

Giving Bag has gained recognition for its unique approach to addressing social and environmental issues through recycling and redistribution. The partnership will focus on reducing waste and promoting sustainability by repurposing goods, which are received from the hotel guests. Items such as gently used linens, toiletries, and other materials will be donated for distribution to local communities in need.

Both Alila SCBD Jakarta and Giving Bag are committed to enhancing the well-being of local communities. Through this collaboration, they aim to organize community outreach programs, including workshops on sustainable living and educational initiatives for underprivileged groups.

The hotel collaborates with State 24 Vocational High School in East Jakarta, which their students within the institution are able to recycle the unused bed sheets and pillow cases into the bags. Alasdair Davidson, General Manager of Alila SCBD Jakarta added, “This partnership with Giving Bag aligns perfectly with our commitment to responsible tourism and sustainability. We are excited to work with Quinn and his team to create meaningful change in our community.”

In their rooms at Alila SCBD Jakarta, guests will discover bags branded “Giving Bag,” into which they may deposit gently worn or unwanted belongings. When returned to the Alila SCBD Jakarta front desk team upon departure, these items will be regarded as charitable donations, which will thereafter be donated to local foundations. By taking part in this program, visitors may enjoy their stay at Alila SCBD Jakarta while simultaneously helping a worthy cause and feeling the satisfaction of giving back.
