Archipelago International has organized its 2nd CSR initiative – Archipelago Cancer Care Initiative (ACCI), which aims to bring joy and support to children with cancer to battle their condition. The program involves a visit to Yayasan Peduli Kanker Anak Indonesia (YPKAI) in Surabaya on 5 June 2024, where chefs from the Archipelago group cooked hearty meals for the children. Hence, this initiative creates a memorable and uplifting experience for the children.
This visit was not only to provide delicious and nutritious meals but also to engage with the young patients in fun and creative activities and atmosphere. Such activities involving the children in plating the dishes, aim to inspire joy and provide a therapeutic distraction from their daily challenges. Additionally, there were performances by a clown with engaging puppet shows and games to entertain the children.
“At Archipelago International, we believe in the power of giving back to the community. This program is especially close to our hearts as it allows us to make a positive impact on the lives of these brave children. We hope to bring smiles to their faces and create lasting memories during our visit.” said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago International.

The CSR program is part of Archipelago International’s extensive commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. Donations collected from participating hotels from 1-30 May 2024, were distributed in cash, milk, and school supplies to provide practical assistance and emotional support. Archipelago International aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families, showcasing the company’s commitment to social responsibility and the well-being of the surrounding community.
The event concluded with a communal meal. A representative from YPKAI expressed, “This support is very meaningful to us. We hope that today’s activities can boost the children’s spirit to overcome difficult times.”
