Music and movie is one of the key features of active/rest pillar The Gaia Hotel Bandung. This has led to the creation of Gaia Music Festival (GMF): Jazz in The Valley. Jazz music was chosen to emphasize creativity, exploration, and spontaneity for the hotel guests and GMF visitors.
This was brought up during the press conference at The Gaia Hotel Bandung, with the presence of Novi Samodro – General Manager of Gaia Hotel Bandung, Rezka M Wildhan – Chairman of Gaia Music Festival 2024, Bagas Indyatmono – Director of PT Jazz Gunung Indonesia, and performers such as Dewa Budjana, Dua Empat, Natasya Elvira, Kevin Yosua, and Elfa’s Singer.
The upcoming GMF event marks its third installment. GMF, a prominent program of The Gaia Hotel, is dedicated to providing guests, regardless of age, with a chance to experience entertainment, rejuvenation, and inspiration through music in the serene setting of The Gaia Hotel Bandung.
One of the things that makes our concert unique is that it takes place inside the hotel and outdoors in the valley. That’s why we call it Jazz in The Valley. We also emphasize a family-friendly concept. It’s not just for parents, but children can also join. While watching the music, they can also enjoy the hotel facilities,” Novi Samodro revealed.
Rezka M Wildhan further added, “This year, we have emphasized the importance of audience participation. We consider the attendees as essential contributors to the GAIA Music Festival: Jazz in The Valley performance, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the event. Hence, we have chosen to call it Total Enjoyment.”
A number of artists at the GAIA Music Festival: Jazz in The Valley 2024 are currently preparing, including Mocca, Aditya Ong Quartet, Dua Empat, Elfa’s Singer, Ivan Nestorman, Dewa Budjana, and Kahitna. Additionally, the organizers are planning a special project exclusively made for this occasion, showcasing emerging young jazz musicians, Natasya Elvira & Kevin Yosua Big 6.
Moreover, you can savor the experience of being welcomed by the Bandung Jazz Orchestra before heading into the amphitheater at The Gaia Hotel Bandung, where GMF is set to take place.
“This year, we have initiated the educational aspect by hosting a drum clinic with Nguber Drummer and presenting young musicians. We hope that next year the event series will be even more comprehensive. It is a celebration for musicians, jazz lovers, and the audience in attendance. Our goal is to ensure that everyone present is happy and comfortable and eager to attend the next GMF. Over the years, we have consistently paired legendary figures with emerging artists. We strive for an exceptional performance at GMF this time,” expressed Bagas Indyatmono.
