ALLEIRA X UC SILVER BY ADITH HENDART COLLABORATION PRESENT ‘SMITTEN’ IN NYFW 24-25

The renowned Indonesia’s high-quality batik brand, Alleira showcased their ‘Smitten’ collection in the global fashion stage of New York Fashion Week Spring Summer 24-25, on 7 September 2024 at Daylight Studio Hudson Yards, New York. The woven creation of the indigenous Bugis people from South Sulawesi, the eastern part of Indonesia’s archipelago inspires the collection. One of the woven motifs is the Rongkong motif, with a hook and rhombus design that symbolizes glory and prosperity and an abstraction of ancestral figures connected to generations. ‘Smitten’ embodies the hope that everyone who sees or owns this collection will feel emotionally connected, full of affection, and encouraged to always look after and care for it.

It features pastel colors, including pink, celadon, nude, and yellow which are applied in many shapes and sizes of clothing and combined with fabric textures such as silk, organza silk, linen, denim, and light cotton. The collection is designed for summer with a strong feminine touch. Ribbons and intricate floral embroidery complement the elegance, creating a light yet opulent feel. Each piece has a unique character and a classic yet modern look.

Supporting ‘Smitten’, Alleira collaborated with an Indonesian silver jewelry brand named UC Jewelry from Bali. Their pieces are inspired by the charm of Bali, which features the iconic ‘Sweet Dragonfly’. With over three decades of history, UC Jewelry’s masterpiece designs are beautiful and intricate but ready-to-wear for all. This collection showcased typical Balinese literary motifs. The ‘Sweet Dragonfly’ collection symbolizes prosperity and balance. It’s inspired by the ancient philosophy that represents transformation, adaptation, and harmony with nature. In Balinese culture, the dragonfly is believed a symbol of beauty in change and balance between tradition and modernity.
