For the third year, the Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF) will be held from 30 October to 3 November 2024 at Hall A & Cendrawasih at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta. IN2MF 2024 has become a center of the global stage and platform for the world’s modest fashion festival, promoting Indonesian modest fashion and allowing creative industry players to showcase their collections and brands.
Following previous success with a series of international roadshows to Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, and Paris, the highlight of IN2MF 2024 still is part of the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF). ISEF as the largest Sharia economic and financial annual festival in Indonesia plays a significant role as a forum of integration from various sectors and activities in the Sharia economic and financial ecosystem.
“This year’s IN2MF, we are targeting IN2MF to accelerate Indonesia, as the center of the world’s modest fashion through three main strategies. First, the modest fashion ecosystem should be strengthened, which includes creation, production, distribution, sales, promotion, and coaching/mentoring involving the government, associations, and business sectors. Second, to strengthen IN2MF as a collaboration platform that supports the creativity and innovation of modest fashion entrepreneurs, including emerging designers. And third, to present Indonesian ‘wastra’ traditional and unique clothing to the international modest fashion market. “From these three strategies, we aim to make Indonesia the center of the world’s modest fashion,” explained Ita Rulina, Director of the Sharia Economics and Finance Department of Bank Indonesia during the Kick-Off of IN2MF.
This year’s theme highlights “Elevating Sustainable Modest, encouraging and promoting the optimization sustainability concept of the use of Indonesian ‘wastra’ in creating fashion products and collections, supporting the green economy development in the modest fashion industry. IN2MF also features various activities and programs including fashion shows, international standard trade exhibitions, seminars, Focus Group Discussions (FGD) on modest fashion trends and businesses, and Business Matching Traditional Textiles between Indonesian artisans and modest fashion designers and entrepreneurs.
“In conjunction with this year’s theme, “Elevating Sustainable Modest Fashion to the Global Stage”, IN2MF emphasizes strengthening sustainable modest fashion products and marketing to the global market. This year, IN2MF focuses on collaboration between designers, brands, influencers, consumers, and industry sectors, and actively participating in various national and international events. Particularly this year’s business matching will be more structured to bring together national and international designers and brands with Indonesian ‘wastra’. “Additionally, seminars and Focus Discussion Groups (FGD) are organized to educate and accelerate competencies of Indonesian designers and modest fashion industry players,” explained Ali Charisma, Advisory Board of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC).
