November marks a special milestone for the Gaia Hotel Bandung as it celebrates its third anniversary! Since opening its doors in November 2021 during the tough times of the pandemic, Gaia has transformed into more than just a hotel. It’s a holistic getaway—a modern village where guests can kick back, rediscover themselves, and rejuvenate at their own pace.
As the saying goes, “busy is good” and it has been a wonderful three years serving every guest while breaking grounds and presenting new ideas. The Gaia Hotel is grateful for the dedication of its Residents and partners – officials, media, institutions, and friends whose work and presence make for its success today. This anniversary is a time to reflect on a journey that was initiated by a bold vision, daring creativity, and made possible by the collective efforts of many.
The Gaia Hotel Bandung is thrilled to present “Beyond the Seen – A Visual Story of GAIA Becoming,” a coffee table book that pays tribute to everyone who has played a part in its story. This collection of candid photographs invites guests to discover the hidden aspects of the hotel. It captures everything from the enchanting fog over the infinity pool to the warm sunlight illuminating the buildings, the wonder in a child’s gaze, and the hard work that fuels the hotel’s charm. Guests can find this book in their rooms, offering a deeper look into the moments that create the comfort and inspiration they experience.
The coffee table book is paired with a fantastic photography exhibition at The Gaia Hotel Bandung called “The Journey.” Curated by Bagoes Kresnawan, it features some amazing sights and stories from the past 8 years of GAIA’s journey. On November 7, they successfully hosted a Panel Talk that shined a light on the synergy between art and business, presenting four creative partners: Ferry Ridwan, the architect behind The Gaia Hotel Bandung; Bagus Pandega, the mind behind the popular installation “The Echoes” in the Lobby; Bagas Indyatmono, CEO of Jazz Gunung Indonesia; and Hengky Susanto, who contributed to “Beyond the Seen: A Visual Story of Gaia Becoming.”
The Gaia Hotel Bandung is enthusiastically looking toward the future, deeply committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Nestled in beautiful natural surroundings, the hotel embraces an eco-friendly lifestyle and takes its environmental responsibilities seriously. Guests, media, and partners have come together to celebrate the hotel’s past efforts, present achievements, and shared dedication to a brighter, more sustainable future.
