LIXIL CELEBRATES EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURE AND DESGN AT WORLD ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL 2024

LIXIL, through its GROHE brand, is proud to support the World Architecture Festival for the 17th consecutive year held in Singapore.

LIXIL, a prominent provider of bathroom and home appliances, through its GROHE brand, hosted approximately 1,600 delegates and guests at the World Architecture Festival 2024 (WAF) in Singapore. This event, now in its seventeenth year at Marina Bay Sands, celebrates the achievements and exceptional projects in the global architecture and design industry.

WAF is the largest international gathering for leading architects and designers (A&D), offering opportunities for leadership talks and business networking to foster collaboration. The theme for this year’s festival, “Tomorrow,” encourages participants to explore how architecture, urban design, landscape, and interiors are influenced by trends such as population mobility, urban growth, digital technology, AI, immersive environments, and cultural changes. These topics were discussed through keynote presentations and discussions aimed at generating new ideas and opportunities.

GROHE, part of LIXIL and a leading global brand for complete bathroom and kitchen solutions, has been a supporter of WAF since its inception. As a Founding Partner, GROHE seeks to enhance the appreciation of water’s unique role in the design industry and to shape innovative architectural visions and solutions centered around water. The GROHE SPA-inspired “Aquatecture” exhibition at WAF emphasizes the integration of water and architecture, highlighting the significance and benefits of this fusion for health and wellbeing.

Additionally, GROHE sponsors the GROHE Water Prize, awarded to the Maotai Eco-Metaverse project by Turenscape. This project, located on an 8-hectare site in Maotai City, Guizhou Province, China, aims to manage the daily production of 7,000 tonnes of industrial waste and wastewater for a spirits distillery by creating an ecosystem that fully integrates the recycling of water, nutrients, carbon, and energy. Although the current design is specific to the distillery, the principles can be applied to other water-intensive industrial facilities.

Audrey Yeo, Leader of LIXIL Water Technology, Asia Pacific, expressed satisfaction with the strong industry support that has helped build WAF into a respected global platform for industry leaders to discuss and recognize each other’s contributions. GROHE’s consistent engagement with WAF reflects its commitment to addressing pressing issues and macro trends, such as personal wellbeing and sustainability, faced by the A&D community.

Paul Finch, WAF Programme Director, congratulated all WAF and INSIDE award winners for their visionary and forward-thinking projects. He emphasized the ongoing challenge for the architecture and design industry to deliver excellence in a changing world, as reflected in the theme “Tomorrow.” Finch also acknowledged the support from industry stakeholders, sponsors, and delegates in advancing the design industry through discussions, awards, and networking sessions at WAF.
