
The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Kemenekraf/Bekraf) and Artotel Group have officially partnered to promote Indonesian games during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays. This exciting collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on December 30th, 2024, at ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta, was signed by Dessy Ruhati, Acting Secretary of Kemenekraf/Bekraf, and Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, Director of PT Artotel Indonesia (Artotel Group).
The partnership unfolds through the Re(Kreasi) Lokal program. This innovative initiative offers guests PlayStation 5 consoles with a diverse selection of Indonesian-made games. Guests can enjoy these gaming facilities in premium rooms or public areas at participating Artotel Group hotels, with no additional charges. Participating hotels include ARTOTEL Thamrin Jakarta, ARTOTEL TS Suites Surabaya, ARTOTEL Sanur Bali, ROOMS Inc D’Botanica Bandung, and ROOMS INC Semarang.
A curated lineup of games, such as “Knight vs Giant: The Broken Excalibur,” “Petit Island,” “A Space for The Unbound,” “Cats and Seek: Osaka,” “Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2,” “Dreadout 2,” “Coral Island,” “Potion Permit,” and “Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly,” has been meticulously selected by the Indonesian Game Association for the Re(Kreasi) Lokal program.
Dessy Ruhati emphasized the collaboration’s goal to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem, particularly the gaming sub-sector. By amplifying the exposure of local Indonesian games, adding value to the gaming industry, and fostering a synergy between local game developers, the government, and the private sector, this initiative is a significant step toward realizing Indonesia’s vision as a global creative hub.
On December 20th, 2024, Kemenekraf/Bekraf and Artotel Group launched the Jalan Jalan Lokal (JJL) application. This application aims to support the digitalization of the local creative economy, enhance business collaboration, provide easier access to financing, improve logistics efficiency, and support the digital supply chain in the hospitality industry.
Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego expressed his pride in contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s creative economy, particularly the gaming sector. He hopes that this collaboration will continue and expand, reinforcing the creative economy as a new growth engine.
