LSPR INSTITUTE OF COMMUNICATION & BUSINESS STUDENTS PRESENT “RETROUVAILLE: THE MUSICAL”

The students of the COMM 28-1SP class at the LSPR Institute of Communication & Business concluded their first-semester exams with a striking theater performance titled “Retrouvaille: The Musical.” This captivating show will be performed at The Amani Palladium Theater, LSPR Transpark, Bekasi, on January 16, 2025, at 19:00 WIB.

“Retrouvaille: The Musical” delves into a rarely told tale, wrapped in a fantasy narrative. It follows the journey of a manual laborer facing economic hardship, who receives a miracle from a fairy, turning his cherished doll into reality. As he begins to exploit this living doll for money, new conflicts arise, highlighting moral values and the consequences of greed.

This production is a significant learning experience for COMM 28-1SP students, emphasizing the process over the final outcome. Through this project, they gain profound insights into the art of theater production, problem-solving, and teamwork. Introduction to Performing Arts Communication (PAC), part of LSPR’s Communication Studies Program, challenges students to create theater shows, providing invaluable hands-on experience.

The performance boasts a talented cast, including JKT48 member Kathrina Irene Indarto Putri as the fairy, Dillon Martios played by Chandra Pratama, and Meisie portrayed by Sarah Natania Winata. Notable crew members include Giacinta Kezia Hermanto as production manager, Annisa Aulia Ramadhani as director, and Valerie May and Zahra Assyifa Kurniawan as administrators.

The show features original songs composed by Adam Al Arifi, Aghnia Heramiza, and Raja Afrizal. The script, penned by Alexandria Avira Chandra, Ahmad Saugi, and Chandra Pratama, brings the story to life with touching lighting by Ahmad Saugi.

Giacinta Kezia Hermanto, the production manager, shared, “Every struggle and sacrifice has paid off as ‘Retrouvaille: The Musical’ comes to life onstage.” Director Annisa Aulia Ramadhani added, “The memories and friendships formed during this production are indescribable.” Cast member Kathrina Irene Indarto Putri expressed, “Being part of ‘Retrouvaille: The Musical’ has been a valuable experience, forming new friendships and creating beautiful memories.”
