In a significant move towards environmental conservation, Hard Rock Hotel Bali, in collaboration with the Bali Hijau Lestari Foundation, has successfully planted 3,800 trees across two key locations in Bali: Bukit Payang, Mt. Batur, Kintamani in Bangli, and Rendang village in Karangasem. This commendable effort took place on February 21, 2025, as a direct result of the funds raised during the 21st annual Rock n’ Run 5km Charity Fun Run, held on December 8, 2024.
Bukit Payang, Kintamani, plays a vital role as a conservation forest area, necessitating ecosystem restoration efforts with a focus on native plant species such as Ampupu (Eucalyptus Urophylla) and mountain pines (Casuarina Junghuhniana). Similarly, the forest in Rendang, Karangasem, recognized for its protected status, saw the Bali Hijau Lestari Foundation partner with the East Bali Forest Management Unit and local farming groups to plant fruit-bearing trees.
With its recent GSTC certification, Hard Rock Hotel Bali underscores its dedication to environmental care through sustainable practices. Shane Coates, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Bali, emphasized that the Rock n’ Run event is much more than a charity fundraiser—it’s a community-driven movement fostering environmental awareness and unity. “Over the past two decades, this annual event has not only supported local charities but has also become a much-anticipated gathering that brings together runners and communities,” he remarked. “Our aim is to inspire participants to engage in physical activity and recognize the importance of preserving our planet.”
This tree-planting initiative highlights Hard Rock Hotel Bali’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and preserving Bali’s natural beauty. By partnering with the Bali Hijau Lestari Foundation and involving the local community through events like Rock n’ Run, the hotel seeks to create a lasting positive environmental impact. Hard Rock Hotel Bali remains steadfast in its mission to support green initiatives and inspire broader participation in building a greener future for Bali.
