In celebration of World Art Day, observed annually on April 15, Ascott Jakarta invited media friends and guests to participate in a fragrant workshop as part of the Ascott Soiree event. More than just an occasion to commemorate World Art Day, this event also served as a grand introduction to Ascott’s signature brand, Ascott Soiree. Held every three months, Ascott Jakarta uses the Soiree to inspire media and guests to explore various art forms, ranging from painting and fine arts to other creative crafts.
Vanessa Velindra, Brand & Marketing Manager of Ascott Jakarta, welcomed members of the media and marked the beginning of the Ascott Soiree, “Ascott Soiree was officially launched on April 15, coinciding with World Art Day, but we plan to amplify its presence throughout the year. After this media-exclusive series, we’ll be hosting Ascott Soiree events with our guests and members.”
For this particular fragrance workshop, Ascott Jakarta collaborated with Cheira Workshop, a creative startup specializing in perfume-making events. The workshop was designed to provide not just a creative experience, but also a reflective one. Participants learned the basics of crafting perfumes, from understanding top notes, middle notes, and base notes to exploring how scents can evoke unique moods and personal impressions.
Guided by certified perfumer and Cheira Workshop founder, Annisa, attendees had the opportunity to create their own signature perfumes, tailoring scents to embody their personality and cherished memories. Options ranged from 15 ml eau de parfum to 30 ml eau de toilette. This approach brought together education, artistry, and emotional connections in a single activity. “Perfume is not just about fragrance—it is expression, identity, and an art form captured in a small bottle,” remarked Annisa.
One of the core values of this event was Ascott Jakarta’s commitment to supporting local businesses and communities. All materials used in the workshop were sourced from carefully selected local producers. Christian Lo, Residence Manager of Ascott Jakarta, emphasized, “We want this event to be a platform for growth. When creative communities and local businesses collaborate, we foster a strengthened ecosystem of art and economy. Amid trade challenges, we remain proud of our local products.”
