PIK 2 GO AND FILM KELILING PRESENTS “BY THE RIVER” FILM FESTIVAL – A CINEMA AND CULTURE CELEBRATION IN GREEN OPEN SPACE, GREENBELT PIK 2

The PIK 2 City Management of Agung Sedayu Group proudly presents the “By the River” Film Festival, an immersive open cinema experience and part of the initiative to celebrate cultural activities in the PIK 2 area. The festival was held in collaboration between PIK 2 Go and Film Keliling, which also aimed to introduce the green open space, Greenbelt PIK 2, as a suitable, comfortable, and inspiring ecosystem for the community to gather and celebrate cultural works.

The two-day festival was held close to the weekend, on 25-26 April 2025, presenting four specially curated movies by the Film Keliling community. The movie screenings were also enlivened with film discussions, culinary booths from local tenants, and interactive activities in a dusk sunset atmosphere, surrounded by shady trees and the calming atmosphere of the Tahang River at Greenbelt PIK 2.

On the first day, a screening of the movie called “Tant que le Soleil Frappe/Beating Sun”, was presented by the Institut Français Indonésie. The next one, “Eksil” movie screened, followed by a special discussion session with the renowned Indonesian Director, Lola Amaria, moderated by Kharisma Nur Maulida (Branding Head of PIK 2 Strategic Planning & City) and Mahadi Asman (Publishing Director of Film Keliling). On the second day, the audiences were entertained with the screening of “Les Malheurs de Sophie/Sophie’s Misfortunes”, another movie presented by the Institut Français Indonésie. On the closing day of the festival, the iconic and all-time favorite “Murder on the Orient Express” movie screened in collaboration with Filmbankmedia.

This festival is a form of manifestation and appreciation of cinema as a medium of expression and social dialogue. By combining local filmworks, Eksil, directed by the talented Indonesian Director – Lola Amaria, additionally highlighted a range selection of international films in collaboration with the Institut Français Indonésie and Filmbankmedia, the “By the River” Film Festival aimed to broaden the audience’s perspective and encourage cross-border cultural exchange.

This film is a blessing in disguise, it’s truly an amazing feeling to be able to reach this stage and still become an enthusiastic work of film, considering that documentaries are difficult to be accepted by many people. I’m also very happy that EKSIL can be screened and exist at a pop festival like the “By the River” Film Festival, I’m so happy and honored“, said Lola Amalia – the Producer, Writer & Director of the “Eksil” movie.
