In celebration of Jakarta’s 498th anniversary, Mercure Jakarta Cikini invites food lovers to indulge in a flavorful tribute to the city’s rich cultural tapestry with the launch of its newest culinary campaign, #DimsumLovers.
Unveiled during the Foodie Exposure event at De’Kafe Restaurant on Saturday, 21 June, the campaign marks the debut of the hotel’s Dimsum All You Can Eat weekend promo, offering a premium yet accessible dining experience with prices starting at just IDR 30,000 nett per portion. Served with a no pork, no lard concept, the dim sum menu is crafted to be inclusive and welcoming to all diners, without compromising on authenticity or flavor.
The launch event opened with a heartwarming Betawi dance performance by children from ATFAC (A Trust For A Child Foundation), a community initiative supported by Accor that nurtures children’s development through education and the arts. Guests were then treated to a live cooking show, where the hotel’s culinary team demonstrated the art of making dim sum and hand-pulled lamian noodles, right before their eyes. The interactive format created a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, perfectly aligned with the spirit of De’Kafe.
“We created #DimsumLovers to offer a four-star dim sum experience at a price point that’s accessible to everyone,” said Arimbi Dewi Margono, Cluster Marketing Communication Manager of Mercure Jakarta Cikini & ibis Styles Bogor Pajajaran. “By launching it during Jakarta’s anniversary, we’re also honoring the city’s Peranakan Chinese culinary roots, especially in neighborhoods like Cikini and Menteng, where Chinese, Betawi, and European influences have long blended into a unique cultural and gastronomic identity.”
Available every Saturday and Sunday, the Dimsum All You Can Eat promo features over 10 varieties of freshly made dim sum, combining hotel-quality presentation with familiar oriental flavors that resonate with local palates.
Whether you’re a longtime dim sum enthusiast or simply looking for a new weekend ritual, #DimsumLovers at Mercure Jakarta Cikini offers a delicious way to celebrate Jakarta’s heritage, one bamboo steamer at a time.
