CERITA FILMS AND ARTOTEL WANDERLUST PRESENT “CHRONOSPIRA” BY DITA GAMBIRO – A MIXED MEDIA INSTALLATION AT ARTOTEL GELORA SENAYAN

Cerita Films and ARTOTEL Wanderlust present a solo exhibition titled “Chronospira”, a mixed-media installation by Dita Gambiro. The exhibition at ARTOTEL Gelora Senayan will run and open for public viewing from 8 July to 7 August 2025. “Chronospira” is inspired by the main character of Cerita Films’ latest movie, Sore: Wife from The Future, by the writer and film director Yandy Laurens, which is currently showing in theaters from 10 July 2025 onwards. In her interpretation of the mixed-media installation, Dita Gambiro depicts Sore’s emotional journey by presenting a fragmented and non-linear spiral of time.

As described in the movie, Sore is a wife figure from the future, with a mission to save her husband, named Jonathan. Though she knows everything about the future, time isn’t so easy allowing Sore to intervene in Jonathan’s life path and destiny.

This artwork represents Sore’s journey: the cloth that accompanies her, the objects that witness to the stories, and the frozen photographic image. Through this artwork, I want to invite visitors to immerse in the rhythm that Sore experiences, the cruelty of time, and the never-ending struggle for love,” said Dita Gambiro, artist and production designer and art director of the movie, sharing the inspiration behind her installation.

Admiring Dita’s artwork in installation mode is like giving Sore a new dimension. This work is not only a monument but also another way to understand the time dimension of Sore beyond the cinema screen,” said the director of the movie, Yandy Laurens.

Dita and Yandy have been involved and collaborated on several other movie projects, including the blockbuster “A Brother and 7 Siblings” and “Falling In Love Like In Movies”, which won seven Citra Awards at the Indonesian Film Festival, including Best Picture category.
