TPJF 2025 SUCCESSFULLY UNITES MUSICIANS, ENTREPRENEURS, AND AUDIENCES IN A DECADE-LONG CULTURAL CELEBRATION

Bandung’s creative pulse reached a crescendo this October as The Papandayan Jazz Fest (TPJF) 2025 marked its 10th anniversary with a weekend of genre-defying performances, cultural immersion, and community celebration.

Held at the iconic The Papandayan Hotel on October 4–5, the festival embraced the theme “A Culture Resonance,” echoing the city’s commitment to artistic openness and cross-generational dialogue.

This milestone edition was more than a music festival. it was a curated experience where jazz met pop, tradition met innovation, and audiences met the soul of Bandung. From the electrifying synergy of Barry Likumahuwa feat. Trie Utami to the poetic depth of Dwiki Dharmawan feat. Rimar, and the vocal elegance of The Sisters; Imelda Rosalin, Arina Mocca, and Dee Lestari, the lineup was a masterclass in musical storytelling. Pop icons Afgan, HIVI!, and Iwa K added a contemporary pulse, proving that jazz is not a genre confined by age or style. It’s a language of emotion.

A standout addition was Pasar Jazz, a vibrant marketplace showcasing local F&B and UMKM vendors. Here, the festival extended its rhythm into the realm of culinary and creative entrepreneurship, inviting guests to savor Bandung’s flavors while supporting its grassroots economy.

The opening night was steeped in legacy: a Lifetime Achievement Award honored the late Harry Roesli, while Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan signed the “A Beacon of Jazz From Bandung to the World” inscription. Founders Bobby Renaldi, Hari Pochang, and Venche Manuhutu were recognized for their vision, and The Papandayan Hotel received a MURI Award for hosting a jazz festival ten years in a row.

As Iwa K closed the festival with nostalgic fire, TPJF 2025 proved that jazz in Bandung is not just heard—it’s felt, lived, and shared. A decade in, the festival continues to be a beacon—illuminating the path where music, culture, and community converge.
