SOMERSET BERLIAN JAKARTA HOSTS CRAFT PERFUME WORKSHOP WITH LOCAL BRAND LAWASAN

Somerset Berlian Jakarta partnered with local artisan fragrance brand LAWASAN to host a Craft Perfume Workshop, offering a weekend experience filled with creativity, storytelling, and sensory exploration.

The workshop introduced guests to the fundamentals of fragrance blending, from identifying base notes to understanding the unique character of each ingredient. Guided by LAWASAN’s founder, Lucia, participants crafted their own signature scents while sharing personal stories tied to favorite aromas. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful with laughter and meaningful exchanges enriching the experience.

LAWASAN is known for its philosophy of “heritage in scent,” creating perfumes inspired by memory, culture, and Indonesia’s natural richness. Each bottle carries a narrative, whether it’s the warmth of tropical woods, the softness of native florals, or the spice of traditional herbs. The brand’s artisanal approach resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom expressed newfound appreciation for locally made fragrances.

This was our first collaboration with a hotel, and the response was incredible,” said Lucia. “Participants were excited to explore scent-making and discover the quality and depth of local products.

Elgar Gumilang, Marcomm Manager of Somerset Berlian Jakarta, shared that the workshop was also part of the hotel’s National Batik Day celebration. “We wanted to honor local pride in a fresh way, not by drawing batik, but by blending aromas that reflect personal identity and cultural roots,” he explained.

Through this collaboration, Somerset Berlian Jakarta continues to support creative initiatives that inspire guests and communities to engage with Indonesian heritage in modern, meaningful ways.
