A year after shaking up Jakarta’s burger scene, MOGUL is marking its first anniversary with a celebration as bold as its name. The “MOGUL Block Party” takes place at its flagship SCBD Park location, blending music, creativity, and the gourmet burgers that have earned a loyal following. Highlights include a live set by DJ Otomidus and public t-shirt printing by Screenprint, but the star of the show is MOGUL’s newest comfort food creation: Chicken Tenders, served with four signature sauces — Honey Mustard, Black Pepper, Bangkok Chili, and Truffle Parmesan.

Co-founder Joeana Simon, the culinary mind behind MOGUL’s menu, believes comfort food can be both heartfelt and refined. Her approach emphasizes warmth, flavor, and chef-level precision — each bite crafted to feel like a hug from home. Originally launched in Medan as M Burger, the brand quickly gained traction before expanding to Jakarta. Its name, MOGUL, short for “Monstrous Gulp!”, reflects a philosophy of eating with gusto and joy.
Founded by US-raised entrepreneur Chris Angkasa and Joeana Simon (@mijocooks), MOGUL is rooted in the fusion of bold flavors and the intimacy of a family kitchen. Joeana, who also runs the bakery Bakeout, ensures every dish is made with transparency — no MSG, no preservatives, just homemade sauces and perfectly baked artisan buns.

Signature menu items include the Double Smash (two beef patties with cheese), Triple Smash (three patties for maximum indulgence), Classic Cheese Burger, and Mogul Junior — a kid-friendly version with caramelized onions, pickles, and lettuce. Looking ahead, MOGUL plans to introduce locally inspired drinks like crafted sodas and pursue creative collaborations that celebrate Indonesia’s culinary spirit. The brand operates at SCBD Park and Eastvara Mall under Clapham Company.
