MD ENTERTAINMENT UNVEILS “AHLAN SINGAPORE,” A CROSS-CULTURAL ROMANCE SET IN THE LION CITY

MD Entertainment, Southeast Asia’s largest production house, proudly announces its latest romantic drama, Ahlan Singapore—one of the region’s most anticipated film releases.

Shot entirely in Singapore, the film is set to premiere in cinemas across Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam in February 2026, before its global release on leading streaming platforms.

Starring a dynamic ensemble of rising and celebrated talents; Rebecca Klopper, Kiesha Alvaro, Ibrahim Risyad, Ferry Salim, Putri Ayudya, Alya Rohali, and Emilat Morshedi—Ahlan Singapore follows the emotional journey of an Indonesian student navigating love, family, and self-discovery in a foreign land.

The project was officially launched through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Oliver Chong, Assistant Chief Executive of the International Group at the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and Manoj Punjabi, Founder and CEO of MD Entertainment. The signing took place at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, and marks a two-year collaboration between the two entities.

Through this strategic partnership, STB supports MD Entertainment’s creative endeavors in Singapore, enabling the production of films and television series that spotlight the country’s diverse destinations and cultural experiences. The initiative aims to deepen cultural ties between Singapore and Indonesia while engaging broader Southeast Asian audiences.

As storytellers, we strive to connect with our audience through authentic settings,” said Manoj Punjabi. “Singapore’s diversity and cultural parallels with Indonesia provide a natural backdrop for our characters. Its modern infrastructure, accessibility, and multicultural environment enhance both the narrative and production quality. We’re confident this film will resonate with audiences across the region.”

Terrence Voon, Executive Director for Southeast Asia at STB, added, “We’re thrilled to collaborate with MD Entertainment to showcase Singapore through a fresh cinematic lens. This film not only highlights iconic landmarks and hidden gems, but also introduces new attractions that will inspire Indonesian travelers and strengthen bilateral ties. Indonesia remains our largest source of visitors in Southeast Asia, and we look forward to welcoming even more.”

Singapore continues to position itself as a top destination for Indonesian tourists, offering a blend of familiar charm and new adventures. Upcoming attractions include the Singapore Oceanarium, Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore, Rainforest Wild Asia at Mandai, and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure, which sets sail on March 10, 2026.

Filming for Ahlan Singapore took place in September 2025, capturing scenes at iconic locations such as Jewel Changi Airport and the Singapore Oceanarium, alongside lesser-known gems that reflect the city’s vibrant spirit.
