
JMFW 2026 was officially opened by Budi Santoso, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. This 5th edition of JMFW was held from 6-9 November 2025 at Kartika Expo Center, Balai Kartini Jakarta. This year’s highlight, “Essential Lab,” JMFW 2026 serves as a laboratory for ideas and innovation for stakeholders in the modest fashion sectors to produce creative designs with high economic value and global competitiveness.
According to Minister Budi Santoso, JMFW 2026 is not only a promotional and exhibition event, but also serves as a platform for cross-sector collaboration to expand global market opportunities, aiming to enable Indonesian modest fashion businesses to grow further and strengthen Indonesia’s positioning as a center for modest fashion worldwide. “Together with industry players, we strive to strengthen Indonesia’s modest fashion ecosystem. This initiative is a strategic step to become a platform for cross-sector collaboration where the local creativity, designers, and products are brought to the global market, most importantly strengthening Indonesia’s position on the international stage,” emphasized by Budi Santoso.

Meanwhile, according to the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) report, Indonesia’s modest fashion was ranked third in the world in 2021 and is now expected to reach first place in 2025, surpassing Malaysia, Italy, Turkey, and Singapore. A total of 242 businesses participated in Jakarta JMFW 2026. This number includes brands that showcased in fashion exhibitions and runway shows. In addition, several food and beverage (F&B) businesses also participated in JMFW 2026.
JMFW 2026 also brought various exciting updates. This year, JMFW expanded its collaboration reach through cross-lifestyle partnerships with the Glamlocal and Anytime Fitness communities; interactive talk shows; and the presence of international buyers, including those from Italy, France, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Singapore. Furthermore, JMFW 2026 hosted Business Matching and Business Networking programs connecting the businesses with representatives from the embassies of potential countries with mutual interests.

On the opening day of JMFW 2026, the Trade Minister Budi Santoso, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widyaputri and Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi, witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) and PT Duniatex.
JMFW 2026 is organized in collaboration and supported by the Indonesian government ministries, financial institutions, provincial government agencies, and industry players. The event is supported by Bank Indonesia, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Jakarta Provincial Government, the Yogyakarta Special Region Industry and Trade Agency (DIY), the Mojokerto City Dekranasda (Regional Crafts Council), Wardah, Bank Syariah Indonesia, Asia Pacific Rayon, Shopee, Pegadaian, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), PT Sarinah, UBS Gold, the Indonesia Fashion Chamber, Deatextile, and Panasonic.
