In conjunction with its 56th anniversary, the Women’s International Club (WIC) Jakarta once again hosted the WIC Annual Charity Bazaar, held at Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Hall B, on 19 and 20 November 2025.
The bazaar was opened by Mrs. Selvi Gibran Rakabuming, the Second Lady, Ibu Nazneen Khubchandani, the President of WIC Jakarta, together with Bapak & Ibu H. Muhidin, the Governor of South Kalimantan, who also graced the event with their presence. The opening ceremony was also attended by the spouses of Indonesian ministers and members of Seruni. Seruni is an organization for the companions/spouses of ministers and high-ranking officials in the Indonesian Red and White Cabinet.

Highlighting South Kalimantan province as the main sponsor of this year’s bazaar, the Regional Government of South Kalimantan, Bapak H. Muhidin, gave welcoming remarks to the invitees. Opening the event was a Baksa Kembang dance performance that represents the warmth and cheerfulness of teenage girls playing in the flower garden. This dance also serves as a welcoming dance for honored guests and symbolizes the love for the culture of South Kalimantan, characterized by its natural beauty, the warmth of its people, and the dynamic aspects of life, with the main prop being a flower arrangement called kembang bogam. The South Kalimantan stall showcased traditional South Kalimantan woven fabrics, local cuisine, and craft souvenirs, as well as promoting its tourism.

The WIC annual bazaar featured approximately 41 stalls from various foreign embassies in Indonesia, ranging from the Republic of Armenia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, 225 business stalls, including 29 food and beverage stalls, 3 charity stalls, WIC Merchandise stalls, and White Elephant stalls, with an entrance fee of IDR 25,000 per person.
“WIC is extremely grateful for the support from foreign embassies in Jakarta that have helped the annual bazaar run smoothly and in line with expectations. Their participation in the WIC Annual Bazaar aims to introduce the culture and traditions of their respective countries, enriching our knowledge and appreciation of other nations“, said Nazneen Khubchandani, President of WIC Jakarta.

In the context of this event, Women’s International Club (WIC) provides women from various countries with the opportunity to meet, build friendships, share ideas, and broaden their understanding of diverse cultures. With a strong commitment to social improvement and support for education, WIC’s main fundraising event is the Annual Charity Bazaar, where the proceeds from the bazaar are used to support its social missions. WIC’s social welfare programs provide monthly support to several senior homes and orphanages. Additionally, its scholarship programs offer annual scholarships to state university students. The White Elephant Stall aims to support those in need through the sale of usable items, including new items donated by WIC members.
The event ran smoothly and met the goals set for the Annual Charity Bazaar. This was evident from the large number of bazaar visitors and their enthusiasm for buying items from the embassy and business stalls. WIC aspires to maintain its dedication to hosting the Annual Charity Bazaar and providing assistance to the community’s underserved individuals.
