When Age is Just a Number
Global release date: September 25
Two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro (The Godfather: Part II, Raging Bull) will partner another Academy Award winner, Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables, Interstellar) in a new comedy, The Intern. De Niro is Ben Whittaker, a seventy-year-old widower who discovers that retirement is not quite what he imagined it to be. When an opportunity presents itself, he decides that he wants to jump back on the saddle of life and becomes a senior intern at a fashion-based e-commerce company run by Hathaway’s Jules Ostin. Jules only accepts Ben as a part of a community outreach program, but they both soon discover that there is more to the other than what meets the eye.
Old Sins and Long Shadows
Global release date: August 7
In The Gift, Jason Bateman (Arrested Development, Disconnect) and Rebecca Hall (The Prestige, Iron Man 3) portray a young couple, Simon and Robyn, who have a blissful married life ahead of them until a chance encounter threatens their perfect happiness. Portrayed by Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby, Exodus: Gods and Kings), Gordo, a high school acquaintance of Simon, appears to be harmless enough at first, but a series of seemingly accidental encounters later speak otherwise. Gordo holds a troubling secret, and it involves Simon. Slowly but surely, Robyn begins to unravel these tangled knots of her husband’s past which have remained hidden to her until now, and finds herself facing a horrifying truth.
