
The Australian Ambassador to Indonesia HE Paul Grigson and wife Nicola Watts held a private reception to celebrate Australia-Indonesia fashion designers on the eve of the Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2016 finale. Two fashion labels were invited for a mini fashion show.
PAGEANT, a fashion label created by Amanda Cumming and Kate Reynolds, that was also the opening fashion show of JFW 2016, brought girl-power inspired collection that sings praises to femininity with an edge. Their design aesthetic is an ode to sportswear, implementing bold elements from patterns to color contrast on unique textile selections, including a black flower fabric from Japan.
Haryono Setiadi, a Jakarta-born fashion designer who is currently based in Sydney, presented a glimpse of his latest collection. Widely known for precise tailoring, ready-to-wear dark-colored sleek silk dresses flowed flawlessly on the runway. The designer was set as one of Dewi Fashion Knights, the highlight of JFW 2016, bringing his unique interpretation of Indonesian woven fabric.
