This past May, Harris Puri Mansion transformed into a haven of joy, empowerment, and creative expression, hosting the Enchanted Empower Exhibition: Family Photohunt Competition, which is a special event honoring the International Day of Families and Global Accessibility Awareness Day. With vibrant smiles and open hearts, 12 inspiring families from POTADS (Association of Parents of Children with Down Syndrome) were welcomed for a full day of celebration and connection.
The day began on a spirited note with young dancer Keyza gracing the stage with Ragam Dasar Betawi, a traditional dance that paid homage to Jakarta’s 498th Anniversary. Her performance set the tone for a day rooted in local pride and inclusive joy.
Taking center stage next was a beautifully thoughtful eco-fashion showcase presented by Edith House Gallery. Children wore handcrafted, sustainable outfits made using natural dye-free techniques, proving that style and sustainability can walk hand in hand. Proudly accompanied by family members, they strutted through the hotel’s garden paths, poolside areas, and lobby in a joyous fashion walk, while hotel guests cheered and cast friendly votes for their favorite ensembles.
To capture the magic, a photography competition invited high school and university students to frame “Special Family Moments” in candid snapshots during the event. The winners, chosen for their emotional storytelling through the lens, were awarded cash prizes and stay vouchers, creating ripple effects of inspiration far beyond the event.
The experience culminated in an intimate, laughter-filled session of sock puppet-making, followed by a hearty family lunch at THE PUB, which was transformed for the occasion into a cozy, child-friendly dining space. From shared bites to shared stories, the meal echoed the event’s true spirit, togetherness without barriers.
